LakeYamdrokis also called Yang Lake; it is 100km from Lhasa. Lake Yamdrok, Lake Namtso and Lake Manasarovar are three holy lakes in Tibet. LakeYamdrok is honored as the most beautiful lake in the world. It is said that LakeYamdrok is a fairy maiden who descends from heaven. LakeYamdrok is like a mirror, the grass is very juicy and dense. It is a highland pasture and abundant with fish. There are all kinds of wild animals around Lake Yamdrok, such as, snow pig, wild goat, fox and migrant birds. As the story goes by, pious Buddhists would rove round LakeYamdrok and it takes about one month by horse. They think that this behavior equals one pilgrimage to Lhasa, and Buddha will bless them that year. LakeYamdrok is surrounded by snow mountains and the most famous one is Mount Noijinkangsang. Tourists can enjoy the mountain as well as LakeYamdrok.
