LingYinSi is a famous Chinese Buddhist temple which is also named as the Hawaii temple. It is located in North Peak to the northwest of the West Lake at Hang Zhou in Zhejiang Province. It is one of the famous ancient monasteries which use to be part of the West Lake area. The presence of a temple on this site can be traced back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (in 326AD). It has more than one thousand six hundred years of history and is one of the earliest hangzhou’s famous temples. According to local legend, Huili an Indian monk came to the area where he was inspired by the spiritual nature of the scenery. According to Huili the area resembled the idea of the Immortals and so he gave the temple the name "Ling Yin (Temple of the Soul's Retreat). Nowadays, LingYinSi has been reconstructed as it needed to be repaired from the late qing dynasty. The temple is on an axis of the building which makes up of TianWangDian, Daxiongbaodian and YaoShiDian. TianWangDian is under the double-hipped roof hanging which can be known as the "spirit griffin fly" and the "Hawaii temple" and is made up of two pieces from the gold plaque. The "Spirit griffin fly" is HuangYuanXiu in soil and "Hawaii temple" is connected to kangxi's book. In TianWangDian it holds the figure of a Buddha maitreya, which has an exposed chest and abdomen. The two sides of the four major Kings has a height of 8 meters, with heavy armor and is commonly referred to as the four bi
g King Kongs. In the majestic halls within the 33.6 metres Triassic Buidings hold the Sakyamuni Buddha. The Buddha has plumped cheeks, a little smile with a golden, radiant body. This sitting Buddha has characterized the Tang Dynasty. The Buddha temple architecture is referred to as rich and natural scenery which the people connect to at LingYinSi. Between the mountains and the coast there are more temples situated in this secluded spot which is known as JiaMu. The beautiful view along with the running water makes this area lovely to visit. Whilst walking around the Buddha temple one will be able to feel the pleasantry that it sends to people. The spectacular scenery will make one feel relaxed and clear headed whilst going through the history of it all.
