Tianyahaijiao (which means “The End of the Earth and the Corner of the Ocean") locates at the foot of Mount Maling, Tianya town, 23 kilometers west from Sanya City Center, Hainan Island. This scenic area consists of the Tropical Ocean Park, the shopping area, the holiday village and plenty of hotels lined up along the coast towards Sanya.   The name of this scenic area came from a beautiful legend. Long time ago, two fairy maidens of the Li nationality came to the world to help the fishermen in the South Sea to fish without the permission of the empress of the Li nationality. The empress sent the Thunder God and Goddess to bring them back.. When the two fairy maidens refused, they were changed into rocks and cleaved into two parts.    Visitors can enjoy a combination of tropical sea sights, beautiful beaches, historical relics and folk culture. It is one of the best beaches in China. There is no winter in Sanya due to its latitude. So tourists can go there all year round.
