About 12 km west of Jiayin in Yichun city, the museum is located on the right bank of the Heilongjiang River that runs between China and Russia. It occupies 130,000 square meters, with its floor space 4,650 square meters and the exhibition halls 2,100 square meters. A comprehensive museum, it combines natural science studies and cultural attractions by housing fossils of eight dinosaurs. It is another dinosaur museum after those in Sichuan, Yunnan, Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia.
