ELing Park (Goose Neck Park)
Located on the western part of Chongqing, Eling Park stands on the Mt Eling. Eling was originally named Edingling (Goose Nape Hill), for its narrow and steep shape resembling a nape of a goose. The park is located on the highest point in Chongqing, so visitors can have a panorama of the whole city. During the reign of Emperor Xuantong, Mr Li Yaotingan, a salt merchant in Yunnan Province, built an ancient private garden named "Li Garden". This was the earliest private garden in Chongqing.
Restored in 1958, the park now displays the layout of Suzhou gardens. There are pavilions, platforms, high buildings, corridors, lotus ponds and arc bridges in the garden.
