Beijing is a city of amazing contrasts - an ancient capital with some incredible historical sites and a bustling modern metropolis getting ready to host the 2008 Olympics. Upon your arrival in Beijing, our guide will meet you and transfer you to your Hotel. The guide will give you some tips on local restaurants that we recommend and you can do some shopping in streets nearby. The rest of the day is free to rest to recover from jetlag or to explore by yourself.

Your city tour starts at Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square where important occations took place such as Founding of P.R.China in 1949 and National Day Celebration. Then go straight ahead to Forbidden City, the largest royal palace in the world serving as administrative center and living quarters for emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties from 1420 to 1911. In the afternoon you'll visit Temple of Heaven, where emperors worshiped the God of Heaven and prayed for a good harvest annually. After dinner, you will enjoy the best Kong Fu show in China.

Leave town in the morning for the drive (a bit under two hours) to the Badaling Section of The Great Wall , which stretches for over 6000 km, and was originally built to protect China from the barbarians. You can walk and climb at your own pace, or enjoy spectacular views from the cable car. Before returning to the city you'll enjoy visiting the Summer Palace: Equally famous as the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace is called'Yiheyuan'(Garden of Nurtured Harmony) in Chinese. It is up to now the best preserved and the largest imperial gardens in China. The show tonight is the Beijing Acrobatic show, which will start at 17:30PM. It has become one of the most popular forms of night entertainment in Beijing. You can enjoy gravity-defying contortionism, juggling, uni-cycling, chair-stacking, and plate-spinning acts and more.

Destinations: Beijing to Chengde

Activities:

Take a morning ride to Chengde, a small city constructed during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing dynasty (1644-1911) in mountain area where emperors hunted annually to train their princes and troops. Your first stop is Imperial Summer Resort, which was built in early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and served as political center and living quater when emperors went hunting here.. Followed by Puning Temple. The temple has also in its time been known as the Big Buddha Temple (Da fo si), a huge statue of Avalokiteshvara, Goddess of Mercy were erected. After dinner, you will enjoy the Kangxi Ceremony. The show depicts the stories of Kangxi, one of the great rulers of China’s long imperial history.

Destinations: Chengde to Beijing

It takes 2 hours to drive from Chengde to Simatai Great wall. Simatai Great Wall is known for its amazedness, awesomeness and uniqueness. It is the only period of the Ming Dynasty to retain the original appearance of the ancient Great Wall. It is built when Sir Qi Jiguang was the governer. Simatai Great Wall has been a UNESCO identified as 'original Great Wall' in 1987. You will visit the Simatai Great Wall. (Hiking for around 3 hours) The guide will prepare quick lunch snacks for you. You can have it on the top of Great Wall.
