2Itinerary
- Our private English-speaking guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel around 9am.
- You will be transferred to Xiangji Temple. It is an old and famous Buddhism temple dating back to year of 978, but renovated recently.
- Then you will walk to Dadoulu Historic Districts. It is one of the best preserved historic districts in Hangzhou where you can find old neighborhood area, shops and restaurants with hundreds of year’s history. You will have lunch at a featured local restaurant there.
- After lunch, you will board on boat. The Grand Canal in China, also known as the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the longest canal or artificial river in the world. Starting at Beijing, it passes through Tianjin and the provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the city of Hangzhou. The oldest parts of the canal date back to the 5th century BC, although the various sections were finally combined during the Sui Dynasty (581–618 CE). After an about 25 minutes cruising on the Canal, you will arrive at Gongchenqiao Dock. Bridge Gongchenqiao is the highest and longest bridge among all the old bridges in Hangzhou. You will get ashore there.
- The famous Qiaoxi Historic District is right there. You will have an exciting museum tour! You can choose 1-2 from China Umbrella Museum, China Fan Museum, China Jinghang Canal Museum. And you can also spend some time at Workmanship Demonstration Pavilion, where you can follow a master to learn to make by yourself paper cutting, embroidery and so forth.
- Then you may wander at the old alley and experience the water village atmosphere of Hangzhou.
- Then transferred back to hotel around 5pm. During today’s tour, a visit to a culture shop is organized.
- Please be kindly noted that the museums are closed on Monday. You may need to change your plan a little bit if just meets Monday. Concerning your flexibility, the cost for learning at Workmanship Demonstration Pavilion is not included, you can pay it onsite.
