- Brief Itinararies: (1),Pick up service by your tour guide and driver from your Luoyang hotel at 8:30AM; (2)Longmen Grottoes(which contains the largest and most impressive collection of Early Chinese Buddhist cave art represented by well-preserved pagodas, carvings and statues)-Sightseeing (2 hours); (3)Local Restaurant- Lunch (1 hour); (4)Shaolin Temple (the Pagoda Forest, the Dharma Cave, Shaolin Temple Martial Art Training Center. Shaolin Kongfu Performance)-Sightseeing (1.5 hours); (5)Drive back to Luoyang and Drop-off service at your Luoyang hotel before 5:00PM.
- The Longmen Grottoes are located 16 kilometers south of Luoyang, on the banks of the Yi River. Longmen Grottoes, together with Yungang Grottoes and Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, is known as one of three famous Grottoes in China. The sculptures of the Longmen Grottoes are an outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity. The high cultural level and sophisticated society of Tang Dynasty China is encapsulated in the exceptional stone carvings of the Longmen Grottoes. The Luoyang Peony Festival begins from April 10 to 25; this is the best time to see the blooming peonies.
- Shaolin Temple is located in Dengfeng County, Henan Province, famous for Shaolin wushu (martial arts), built in 495, the 19th year of the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. Shaolin Temple is worthy of a visit. It will give you a better understanding of Chinese Buddhism and the Chinese martial arts.
