As a result of internet searching, looking for a tour agency/company capable of putting together a customized tour, we came upon China Travel Depot. Filling out the on-line itinerary request form was simple. We identified Beijing, Hohhot and Datong as we were interested in visiting, identifying that our tour starting date was flexible. The following day we received a reply from Julia, at China Travel Depot. Julia was our point of contact and our tour coordinator. We exchanged a couple of emails, solidified the pricing and everything was set, including travel by private car from Beijing to the port. From start to finish Julia was outstanding! The pre-tour setup and booking experience and communications were excellent! Finally, the day came and our trip began.
Frankly speaking, I’ve been in Beijing several times, but every time I’m here, I got the different impression, this time we visited the Summer Palace, being the largest royal park it was being well preserved. Containing examples of the ancient arts, it also has graceful landscapes and magnificent constructions. The Summer Palace is the archetypal Chinese garden, and is ranked amongst the most noted and classical gardens of the world.
In Datong we visited one of the four greatest grottoes in China, Yungang Grottoes. Situated to the west of Datong City, Yungang Grottoes were carved on the southern foot of the mountain, stretching for about one kilometer (0.6 miles) from the east to the west. There are altogether 252 niches and 51,000 vivid Buddha statues, really splendid Buddhist grotto art of China!
Hohhot is an ideal place to relax away from modern day pressure thanks to the magnificent natural beauty, and the immense grasslands is the necessity, which you can’t skip.
Whatever, We had an absolutely amazing time in China! Here we want to thank Julia and her company China Travel Depot, thank you again!
