Hello Carol,
We are still recovering from the long travel journey in Tibet. Before anything else I start today I would like to thank you for arranging our tour. What a great experience, what a beautiful city! We enjoyed every minute.
The highlights of the visit to Lhasa were Potala Palace and Jokhang Monastery. Our first sight-seeing in Lhasa was to Potala Palace. As we had yet to acclimatize to the high altitude, the climb up the Potala Palace was very exhausting, especially for those who were already breathless walking on level ground. For security reasons, we were not allowed to bring oxygen canisters along with us. Potala Palace was beautiful. The view could be had without making the strenuous climb. However, despite the exhausting climb, it was still a worthwhile experience to walk through Potala Palace to get a glimpse of its rich religious heritage. Jokhang Monastery was also a worthwhile visit. Moreover, after visiting it, one could shop at the stalls in the streets around the monastery or eat at the many restaurants around it.
Our tour guide is unforgettable. So sweet, so nice she became our friend. Her language skill is excellent. Her knowledge and expert tee was amazing.
This vacation was gift for my birthday. The best birthday gift I have ever received. Thank you very much, China Travel Depot!
Best Regards,
