Hello James,
Sorry for the delay in responding to your message due to some work related issues. Anyway, here is my respond to your questions in addition to a few pictures. The five cities I visited were classics for my first visit to China.
In the city of Shanghai, the temple is interesting, a little funky but that's normal for Chinese temples, I think, which are more part of ordinary life than a church would be. There are some not too good statues, but the temple is worth the trip simply because of the jade Buddha upstairs in the jade Buddha Hall. This is a masterpeace that exudes peace the same way as a great piece by Michelangelo, just make sure you take some time to contemplate it. It is truly beautiful. After all, the purpose for building this temple was to house it and it's less impressive companion statue downstairs. In every city, I took a lot of photos, and hope to be as a memory in the future. Thank you all so much for a fantastic trip, and as you asked we would like to send off a few thoughts on what we enjoyed and what we liked less.
All the best,
Jung Woo Sung
