Dear Julia,
The guides were excellent. Their knowledge of the local area and history was much higher than any other tours I've been on in other countries. Sandy (our guide in Guilin) was our favorite. His laid back style and attitude was much more relaxing and enjoyable. The personality of the guide is just as important as their abilities in English and knowledge. The reason for this is that if the guide seems to be in a hurry, or very strict, this attitude rubs off on the tour group as well and makes it a little less relaxing. The most important thing to remember for your company is that every one of your customers is on vacation. And a major part of a vacation is to relax and have fun. So it is important to take as laid back an approach as possible while going through the itinerary. Sandy was great at doing just that. Guilin was definitely the highlight of our trip.
all the best,
