Datong is located in northern Shanxi Province and is the second largest city of Shanxi.Datong is an old coal mining city in China. Its history and development are very much linked to coal mining, the dominant industry of Datong.Datong is also famous for its World Heritage-the Yungang Grottoes, the Hanging Temple-wich date to the the Northern Wei dynasty.
