The Echoing-Sand Mountain is located in the joint of the Badain Jaran Desert and the Taklimakan Desert. The whole massif of the mountain is accumulated by the red, yellow, green, black and white grains of sand. The outline of the mountain looks just like a sword Piercing into the sky. There are 2 distinctive characteristics about the mountain: when people glides from the top, the sand below will produce the sound like orchestra; the steps left after people climbing the mountain will disappear the next day. The Crescent Lake and the Echoing-Sand Mountain are like twin sisters in the desert area. The stream gather in the foot of the mountain and become a moon-shaped lake, that is where the name comes from. The water inside is pure like crystal with the surface stay steady as a mirror dropped in the desert. The water would not dry up even under the the intense heat of summer, the sand could not bury the lake even on the windy days, these two scenic spot make a luxuriant and wonderful spectacle.
