Taiyuan Travel Tips
Taiyuan is the northern gate of the Central Plains in China, and there are numerous historical sites here not only include the ancient caves carved by the passing of time, but also include various temples of different religious beliefs. Among these attractions, buildings and statues of the Song Dynasty is particularly valuable in the Jinci Classical Garden; the stone sculptures of Tianlongshan Buddhist Caves are rarely seen in the Central Plains; the Longshan Taoist Grottoes is the only Taoist grottoes of Yuan Dynasty in China; and the Twin Towers Peak of Shuangta Yongzuo Temple has been ranked as the symbol of Taiyuan.

May to October is the best tourist season in Taiyuan.

Shanxi snacks are sold almost everywhere on the streets of Taiyuan such as Willow Lane, and Bell Tower Street. The Shanxi food is well known for its famous cooked wheaten food in China, such as noodles, cat ears, lamb Paomo. Meanwhile, this is also an ancient city with more than 2400 years’ history.

1, Visit Jinci Temple
First arrived in Taiyuan, if you don’t visit Jinci Temple, it’ll be a regret like foreigners to Beijing not visit the Forbidden City.
2, Wander around the Fen River scenic
The Fen River Park is full of sparkling flowers, grasses and beautiful scenery, which is the most beautiful scenery line in Taiyuan.
3, Visit the Longshan Grottos
Taiyuan city has accumulated a wealth of cultural heritage, one of which the Longshan Grottos is the world's largest Taoist grottoes where you must go to feel the Taoist culture there.
4, Have a bowl of "Taiyuan Tounao”
"Tounao" is a kind of unique breakfast in Taiyuan. In fact, it is a bowl of sheep broth, which is add with some yam, lotus dishes to remove the smell. “Tounao” is filled with the aromas of the wine, medicine, lamb, which is not only mellow but also delicious. This dish is usually served with flour tortillas, which will be a distinctive flavor to have them together.
