Dali Weather
Dali has a typical highland monsoon climate, although affected by seasonal monsoons, temperatures generally remain moderate. The winters are not too cold nor are summers too hot. There islittledifference between 4 reasons. The best time to travel in Dali is from March to June when spring is in full swing, and the city is filled with sunshine and fresh air.

This temperate climateencompasses most of Yunnan Province except for the mountainous terrainregions. The daily temperature variation tends to be greater than the seasonal variation in temperature, which calls for layered clothing, or jackets and sweaters early in the morning and again during the evening. The climate of Dali is generally characterized as a subtropical highland monsoon climate, with lots of sunshine and fresh air. Asthe city is located on a flat plateau between a mountain range (the Cangshan Mountains to the west) and a large lake (Lake Erhai to the east) anatural wind tunnelis created, providing Dali with a great deal of wind year round. This phenomenon is not limited to Dali, the US city Chicagois also built adjacent to Lake Michigan, and therefore gets a lot of wind year round. Thus both Dali and Chicago areblessed with the nickname the "Windy City".
