Chongqing, Another 72 Hours Visa-free Transit City in China
The State Council has approved Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is 72 hours visa-free airport. It is the fifth city implementing this policy after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu. This policy will be put into force in late November 2013.
The “72 hours” will be start from 00:00 the next day after arriving. The arrival day is not included in the “72 hours”, which means travelers will have 4 days at most in Chongqing.
This is a big chance for Chongqing to improve the communication and cooperation with other countries in economy, tourism and culture. Chongqing is the only city in West China having airport, railway and port. The international investment and trade and tourism develop very quickly these years. The Consulate General of UK, Japan, Canada, Demark, Hungary, Holland, Italy, Ethiopia, Cambodia and Philippines were founded in Chongqing. Nowadays, more than 23 international airline were opened from Chongqing to the world, e.g. Doha, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Bangkok, Seoul, Singapore etc.
