Hong Kong Airlines to launch new route to Moscow
Hong Kong Airlines will launch a new international direct route to Moscow on June 30, 2010.
There will be four flights each week between Hong Kong and Moscow: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday.
This route will be operated using Airbus A330-200 aircraft configured with business and economy cabins. A one-way trip will take about 10 hours, which is four hours less than the current service which involves transferring in Beijing or Shanghai.
Yang Jianhong, the president of the airline, said that travel to Russia is now quite popular in Guangdong, as the exchanges between China and Russia are increasing, and China and Russia have signed an agreement on abolition of visa requirements.
