Phlegmatic

People with phlegmatic personality are sedate, considerate and forbearing and they are able to well control themselves. They do not easily reveal their emotions and distract attention. Phlegmatic people are best at staying calm amidst chaos, not overreacting to negative situation. They act slowly and strictly abide by the established orders.

For them, the best way of spending their holidays is to quietly read a book at an afternoon and enjoy their lives leisurely. However, people with phlegmatic personality should occasionally go to playground to experience a new way of life.

Nanjing

At the height of summer, Hangzhou people say that Hangzhou is like a furnace and Nanjing people also say so. In July and August, no matter which city you visit, you will feel the warmth the city emanates. Last summer, I did feel the warmth of Hangzhou where I suffered from heatstroke at the first time. So this summer I am determined not to admire water lily of West Lake because I cannot stand the heat there.

Nanjing is hot as well. When I came down from Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, sweat soaked my clothes all over as if they had been washed in water. In order not to repeat what happened last year in Hangzhou, I arrange a night tour to Qin Huai River. When night falls, colorful lights reflect on the surface of water and Qin Huai River becomes fanatically beautiful. Those who once saw the scene may feel it is vulgar while those who never had a look keep thinking about the matter. However, we are all secular people so we would rather pay a visit and then regret than regret for not coming.

Zhu Ziqing once wrote a prose of Qin Huai River in the Dip of Oars and Shadow of Lights, which recorded his night tour to Qin Huai River with his friend Yu Boping in 1923. In his passage, he described that the river looked very beautiful without modern lighting and it became more peaceful and soft at night.

Nanjing’s summer night is hot, too. Luckily, there are air conditioners in gaily-painted pleasure-boats. Taking night scene is difficult as the tripod does not work at the shaking boat. I have to hold the camera, adjust the aperture to the maximum and appropriately raise the sensitivity of the camera. Though raising the sensitivity is at the cost of picture quality, I finally get a  picture of the night scene. 

Sanguine

The Sanguine personality is affected by chemical called dopamine, which makes these people intensely curious and creative. Their curiosity can be expressed in their love for reading and different kinds of knowledge and they usually possess high amounts of energy, so they may seem restless and spontaneous.

During summer vocations, people with sanguine personality should choose outdoor sports or playgrounds to fully unleash their energy. If you feel bored about them, you can try some adventurous and exciting activities such as climbing high mountains, which are catering for sanguine people.

Tai Mountain of Shandong

At the mention of Tai Mountain, I will think of the passage of Heavers in one of my elementary textbooks. Though many years have passed by, it still has an influence on me, especially those born in 1980s who also have an dream. More than one time as we have climbed the Tai Mountain, we have never felt the unique charm of Tai Mountain in rain. 

As time is not static, even sea will become farmland. However, the grandeur of Tai Mountain has never changed for nearly a thousand years. Instead, it becomes more and more internalized. In fact. Tai Mountain leaves behind more scenes to admire for us than these for our ancestors. 10 scenes in Tai Mountain that our ancestors often visited are still splendid as before but it has bred a legend of 2.8 billion years---Colored Stone Creek.

Colored Stone Creek is situated at the west of Tai Mountain, which was seldom appreciated by men of letters. At the foot of Tai Mountain, through billions of years of carving, rock strata with light and dark layers cover the river bed. The minute you step into the creek, you couldn't repress your admiration for the magic power of nature. In the sunlight, the colorful stones under the water are dazzling, which seems like a piece of watercolor painting. Walking on the colorful stones, you will easily extricate yourselves from the boredom and fatigue of daily life.

Choleric

Choleric, also known as a Ruby, Red, Dominance, is the most forceful and active of the 4 types. Choleric personalities are active and like to be doing something while they are the most likely to have an active temper and may carry a grudge for a long time. In daily life, they are energetic, strong-willed and independent. But they are impetuous, poorly self-disciplined, impatient and inconsiderate.

People with choleric personality should choose thrilling ways to relax themselves in summer holiday, such as playing paintball games, taking a hunted house adventure and so on. These activities maybe the best ways for them to have a relax. 

Beijing Happy Valley

In summer, there is always a special holiday celebration for you. This year, Maya Carnival will be held in August. Happy Valley is a place for big boys and girls. Melancholy

Melancholy personality types tend to be the pessimists of the world. They move at a slower pace, and do not come out and say what is in their minds. Melancholies are introverts who tend to be highly sensitive to others and are faithful to the point of self-sacrificing. They are very creative and talented people. However, they have tendencies to generate low self-esteem because of being judgmental of their own abilities.

People with melancholy personality prefer staying at a corner and sometimes meet one or two friends. Lack of interpersonal communication is their fetal shortcoming. On holidays, they can make some changes: get close to others and share you happiness with them.

Hainan Island

Speaking of Hainan, people will immediately think of sunshine, sea, beach and coconut trees. The sun in Hainan is hot so even in winter it is warm and cosy. The beach in Hainan is as fine and smooth as a maiden’s skin; the leaves are sweet and cool.

It reminds me of a few lines of Hai Zi’s famous poem, “From tomorrow on, I will be a happy man...I only wish to face the sea, with spring flowers blossoming.” Let’s throw off all the boredom  and travel to the end of the world with romance. Hainan island is the most proud of house reef along the coastline where most of island ecological systems are preserved well. Where coral reefs are closely gathering, there will be a diving club, which could surely meet different demands of tourists. Sea fishing is seen as playing golf at the sea. Fishing men could get in touch with nature, persue excitement, harvest happiness and grasp the true meaning of life.
