Under the influence of Chengdu aviation development’s leading role in Middle west, all the airline companies compete to move into Chengdu and win the market competition. The reporter got the news from Shuangliu international airport that the establishment of Xiangpeng airline brunch office in Chengdu had been approved by Civil Aviation Authority recently. That means there are 5 based airlines in Chengdu Shuangliu international airport now.
Yunnan Xiangpeng airline is a division of Hainan airline, and was founded in Jun, 2004; started operating on 26th Jun, 2006. The operating bases of this company are in Kunming and Lijiang, Yunnan. So far, Xiangpeng airline has operated 22 flights, and covered more than 40 domestic cities. Xiangpeng airline’s market share is about 12%, and ranks third in Yunnan. Now, it has already opened the non-stop routes to Kunming, Tengchong and Lijiang from Chengdu.
At present, besides Xiangpeng airline, Chengdu Shuangliu international airport has 4 other based airlines, including: Air China Southwest Branch, Sichuan Airlines, Chengdu Airlines and China Eastern Sichuan Branch.
