             Guiyang Transportation

After the influence of thousands years of history, Guiyang has become a unique city with strong cultural atmosphere. In addition, its own climate and geological condition has formed an area full of forest. Apart from Guiyang’s historical and natural beauty, it is also a city with all types of convenient transportation which makes it more convenient for travelers.

 By air

Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport is located in Guiyangs’ eastern suburbs, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the city center. It is a 4D-class modern airport with advanced navigation systems and facilities. The terminal building area covers 34,000 square meters, which can meet the annual passenger throughput of about five million and the need of about 2,000 people per hour in and out of the airport in peak hours. Civil Aviation has opened flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guilin and other major cities, as well as to Singapore, Bangkok, Thailand and other countries.
By train
Guiyang is an important hub in southwest railway transportation and is the center of the highway traffic in Guizhou province. Railway traffic in Guizhou is very well developed. Four railway lines converge here; they are Sichuan-Guizhou Line, Guiyang-Kunming Line, Hunan-Guizhou Line, and Guizhou-Guangxi Line. Guiyang Railway Station is the provincial passenger transportation center; they currently send out more than 50 trains a day. Meanwhile, there are tourist trains from and to Guiyang, Kunming, Huangguoshu and other parts of the resorts in Guizhou province respectively, which benefits quite well to tourists.

By bus
When you are taking a bus in Guiyang, bear in mind that you can either pay by swiping a public transport IC card or by inserting the correct amount of change since there is no conductor on the bus. Another tip is that you should always get on the bus via the front door and get off via the rear door.
Bus NO.1, 2 circuits between the railway station and Qianling Park; Bus NO.26, 38 runs from the urban area to Huaxi Park and Tianhetan Scenic Area respectively.
A feature of Guiyang’s bus transportation is that the distance between bus stations is very short; mostly several hundred meters to set up a station. So, it may look like there are many stations, but in fact the trip will be very quick.
Buses are being extended in all directions which makes the transportation in the city incredibly convenient. But remember that all the buses will stop running after 21:00 except minibuses which will still run until 1 am. So do not worry too much about the traffic running time, if you play too late, you can still go back to your hotel easily by minibus or taxi.
