Folk opera

The tone of Lusheng can be forcefully low, and it can also be crisp and sonorous. Lusheng Dance has become an essential activity in the celebration of many festival of Guizhou.
Bullfighting
Bullfighting is a popular activity in suburban or rural area of Guiyang. Unlike the world-famous Spain Bullfighting which is between humans and bulls, this is a fight between farm cattle.

The bullfighting time is from the Lunar June to August after rice transplanting and before the harvest. Bulls about to play the competition are called "Balang" and in order to express the wish for Balang’s victory, families and friends of the bull’s owner will treat him to a drink. The fighting is extremely spectacular with shouting from spectators and rumbling of fireworks. You can’t miss it!
