Turpan Weather
Turpan can be one of the hottest places in China with average temperatures of 35℃accounting for over 100 days throughout the year. However, residents usually do not feel uncomfortable with the heat as much as visitors would think because the humidity is generally no more than 3%. The Turpan Basin is the world’s lowest-lying basin, the lowest point being 154 meters below sea level. Gales up to 12km are a common thing here and the rainfall averages about 16mm in recent years but the underground water basins do have plenty of water. Also to point out, the temperature difference between day and night is major which means that a coat is necessary.
