                    Tourists to Xigaze increased by 20% annually

With the taking off of tourism in Tibet driven by the running of the railway, tourists to Xigaze increased at a rate of 20 per cent annually.

Occupying unique highland landscape and colorful cultures, Xigaze attracts a great number of tourists from home and abroad every year.

Golden tour routes like "Qomolangma Tour", "Red River Tour" and "Yarlung Zangbo River Tour" have been established in the region. Tourists are also absorbed by the Mt. Qomolangma, the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lamas, the Sagya Monastery, which is known as the "Second Dunhuang", relics of Gyangze Anti-British Fort, the Parlha Manor, manor of aristocrats and the serf owners in the old Tibet, the biggest river in Tibet--Yarlung Zangbo River and etc.

The running of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has brought along the economy related to the dining, lodging, leisure, transportation and tourism in Xigaze.
